Another IR shot.... nearly dusk and that is the reason for the lack of white trees as everything was pretty much in the dark.
Marshland by =crazy1ady is a beautiful example of creating magic using invisible light. Infrared photography can reveal stunning results and this is just more inspiration to try something new. (

That is dA for you, full of bugs and stuff. I have noticed this problem a lot, try deleting your cache, if that does not work, please send a helpdesk ticket to dA to let them know, the more people that report this thing, the better.
Hi. I use a Nikon D70 and a Hoya R72 filter. I took a custom white balance reading with the filter on and that got rid of the initial redness that unprocessed IR shots have. Then I process in photoshop, usually an s shaped curve, unsharp mask and a few other adjustments. It depends on the shot as to what I do exactly.
Thanks for your comment and hope these trade secrets help
It depends on whether you are shooting digital or film, but for both you need an infra red filter. On a digital camera you have to found out whether or not it is sensitive to infrared light. On a film camera you need to use infra red film, but be careful as automatic wind cameras can fog this film if using true infrared film.
You also need a tripod as the exposure times are long and a remote is also helpful.... other then that you need patience and some perseverence..... after all Rome wasn't built in a day
If you want any more advice, then please feel free to contact me.
I used a Hoya R72 filter on my D70. I tend to totally underexpose my IR shots as I prefer them that way... although I have since been messing around at exposing longer with some help from on my visit to Norway.
As for Batfink...... well that was a cheesy cartoon.... but so funny, the old ones are always the best
