Greetings from Norway

Wed Sep 17, 2008, 1:58 PM
Well it's been a long gap between journal entries again. I never was any good at keeping a diary, and I guess it's the same with this.

Well, life is good in Norway. I have been working in a supermarket for a whole year now and my viking is fluent. I have also got engaged to ~flumpie and we have bought a house half way up a mountainside. :w00t:

The summer here has been wonderful. Whilst England got lots of rain and crappy weather we got all the :sun: which makes a nice change from rain.

Pippin our superdachs is doing great too. He is now an accepted tracking dog after doing well in a bloodtracking competition and he is going to a show in a couple of weeks too. Just hoping he does well and we really have to train him to stand nicely on a table so the judge can inspect him.

Ok, need to  as I have to be at work at 8am. :|

Goodnight

It's been too long

Journal Entry: Sun Dec 9, 2007, 3:28 AM
Hi folks, well it's been nearly six months since I wrote a journal here and lot of things have been happening here in sunny (not) Bergen.

First and foremost norwegian classes are over :w00t: I have passed the final exam which I sat in October and now I am fluent in the viking lingo and can study at uni if I want to. I can hold a conversation with little old ladies, grumpy old men and surly teenagers with no manners. I can bluff it when I am not quite sure what they said and I can voice my opinion without getting strange stares.

I have also found a job too. I am working as a checkout lady in a supermarket and it's great. I get to practice my viking everyday and have to concentrate to speak english at work now, which I consider totally wrong. English should come out of my mouth naturally! :shakefist:

As for photos and freetime, there has not been so much of that lately. I have taken a few photos this year but certainly not as many as I would have liked. The weather has not been so great this year, and Pippin has taken up so much freetime that when I have finally got a minute to myself, I have just been knackered. Pippin is now in full puberty mode too, so our cute little puppy has turned into a disobedient beast that demands attention from us 24/7 and doesn't like to obey commands so much either.

All I can say really is that life is great. :D I hope to spend a bit more time here posting stuff. I like the new gallery features and being able to use folders to organise my work how I want is a brilliant step forward for dA. So keep watching me and if you want one of my works as a print, then let me know and I will see what I can do for you.

Take care and play nicely.

Subscription, Pippin and my first Commision :D

Journal Entry: Fri Jun 29, 2007, 6:29 AM
Hi folks

It has been a long time since i updated my journal, perhaps too long. Pippin has been keeping Stig and I very busy. He is growing fast and in only three months has more than tripled in weight. He was only 2kg when we got him, and now he weighs over 7kg!

You can see Pippins blog here og he is on facebook too, in fact, he has many more friends there than me :D

So what else has been happening here in Bergen? Well, the weather has been fantastic for most of June. In fact, the extreme lack of rain here is probably the cause of the flooding in England! We have had :sun: :sun: and yes more :sun:. It has been really warm too.

I have also done my first commision. DOGGIE PICTURES!!! :w00t: Only need about another ten thousand customers and we won't be homeless next year. On that note, if any of you want a deviation of mine as a print, please let me know by note. I am skint, jobless and potentially homeless. Help out a starving artist. ;)

P.S Pink rules.

Wedding, Travelling and Pippin

Journal Entry: Thu Apr 26, 2007, 5:29 AM
Well, it's been a while since I wrote a journal and lots of stuff has been happening since then.

We picked up Pippin on my birthday AND it snowed too. I have never had snow for my birthday before, so I was pretty excited. In the last (almost) three weeks I have been woken up before 6am more times than I can count on both hands and have been bitten, chewed upon and totally licked to death by our little ball of fur (who is not so little anymore). The housetraining is going slowly and he is constantly carried outside to pee and poo (if you carry the puppy they don't leak ;)) . The other training is going slowly too, we are trying to get him to come to us on command and have begun with sit too, however, dachshunds have minds of their own so it is not easy.

Last Wednesday I travelled to England for a few days as the friend I have known since I was just four years old got married. The wedding was lovely, she looked stunning and it was a little emotional too. All my old school friends are finally settling down, having kids and buying houses. It all seems to have crept up quietly and only within the last couple of years too. People keep telling me it will be my turn next, but we shall just have to wait and see.

Anyway, my trip to England involved a much needed trip to the hairdressers, shopping for things like oxos and marmite and other such things I cannot live without and some visiting of friends and family. I am not sure when I will be back in England next, but I have been promised a ferry trip this summer so we shall just have to see. I hope we can do that because I do not like flying very much.

The Little One

Journal Entry: Sun Mar 25, 2007, 10:12 AM
Stig and I had been discussing the possibility of getting a little one to add to our family. We discussed it before Christmas, however, in January we made the firm decision to find ourselves a dachshund.

We have looked after another dachshund a few times over the last year and we found ourselves thinking about it more and more. Stig found a breeder and we are now just two weeks from picking up the little bundle of mischief. We are looking forward to the sleep disturbed nights, letting it out to piddle and the destroyed shoes, socks and other things as we learn what is not "dog proof".

It should all be worth it though, after all, how can anyone resist this?
